Business

Not the most encouraging start to the New Year, is it? I mean, floods, storms, bush fires, drought... not to mention riots, murders, mining disasters and goodness knows what all. There aren't too many countries in the world that don't seem to be participating in some kind of dress rehearsal for a visit from the Four Horsemen.

Except here. Here in lovely, soft Lincolnshire it's quiet, orderly, smiling people and friendly horses. Most of the dogs are tail-waggingly friendly, too, with the exception of the guard dog along the lane and I'm working on him.

On a day like this, taking a short walk, sitting quietly with my book and a spot of Mozart, I could all too easily fall to wondering what the hell we're doing to contemplate moving house once more. Hey ho. You have to go with the flow.

So, anyway, another quiet day. I got the cleaning done, and the place is just about ready for inspection on Graham's return tomorrow. Or the day after. He fully intends to travel tomorrow but there's always the chance of some last minute business getting in the way.

Business has this habit of getting in the way, doesn't it?
